Module 1A Description
This introductory module will introduce you to the concept of the flipped classroom.  If you wish to go further, Part 1B will guide you towards thinking about your teaching and learning preferences in relation to the flipped classroom and active learning. Part 1C will help you conceptualize the flipped design for your own classroom.

Expected Time (Module 1A): About 1 hour

Change is both exciting and intimidating for most people.  By taking this course, you are clearly looking into the possibility of changing how you teach.  Why change?  What are you hoping to accomplish?  What concerns do you have about making this change?

  1. If you have not done so already in the Getting Started Module, start by taking this pre-course survey to learn where YOU are in the continuum of flipped 'change'. This survey is based on the Concerns-Based Adoption Model developed to understand where people are during the process of change and how they perceive of change. This survey will be completed again at the end of the class, to see how your concerns about change and the flipped classroom (hopefully!) have changed.
  2. If you have not done so already, introduce yourself on the Introductions Discussion Forum and let us know who you are and why you are interested in the flipped classroom.
