Library & University service / Leadership
There are visual examples of service in my service evidence document that will not be repeated here.
Library Service
- Contribute qualitative research expertise to the committee when analyzing data about library services and programs.
- I analyzed the comments to define a set of themes that emerged from 2014 LibQual survey.
- The Library One-Stop Canvas Site
- Although this one-stop project is a teaching project, I also performed service/leadership related to this project by leading the effort (with 3 other Faculty Services librarians:Alfred Mowdood, Lorelei Rutledge, & Tallie Casucci) to design and implement this resource during COVID.
- It was built upon a site I had started pre-COVID that was specifically for graduate students and updated for multiple audiences
- I continue my administrative work on this Canvas site and I am currently exploring options for adding an interactive database component to this site to make searching easier and designing a communication plan to market the resource.
- Some of the modules linked into the One-Stop resource include:
- 5 top strategies modules. (Donna)
- K-12 outreach modules - open resources when students cannot visit the library (Donna)
- Student athletes modules. (Alfred & Tallie)
- Lassonde Institute & Entrepreneurship modules. (Alfred & Tallie)
- Getting started. (Donna)
- In progress - Using qualitative research to conduct a literature review (Donna & Lorelei)
- Scholarship (papers and presentations) about this resource

- I performed the flipped training for instructors teaching in the REd program who were converting their courses from F2F to online
- My REd course on qualitative research is another way I perform university service by providing training for grant managers, and faculty working on grants
Biomedical Informatics Projects
- This is an example of service I provide across campus by request on the topics such as online teaching, qualitative research and instructional design. The images below show the Faculty Development series of workshops that were designed and taught for the Biomedical Informatics program is a example of the type of works I ofter do to help faculty move to online teaching or to help them create learning outcomes and align program to outcomes.
Professional Service /leadership
My professional service focuses on a variety of services such as journal, conference and book reviews. I served as a member of teh AMIA 2018 conference planning committee, reviewed journal articles, conference proposals and as a book reviewer for a book about Instructure Canvas. - Work on a plan for providing faculty development through autoethnography reflexivity
- Teach as a MOOC, or through CTLE?
- Get more involved in OERwest and other OER initiatives
