Lab 0: Purchase Analog Discovery 2 and Multimeter

For 1245 Lab 0:

NO LAB ATTENDANCE THIS WEEK -- Please complete the following to be ready for next week's lab:

(the first two items may be bypassed if already completed in ECE 1050):

1.   Sign up for a CADE account (the college's computer network) at this URL:

Once your CADE account is active, you will be able to login to the computers in the lab or remotely.

Purchase the following items from the ECE Stockroom (if attending classes on campus MEB 2355; if online class see Purchasing Parts and Equipment for Labs Taught Remotely) with money on your UID card (cash/credit cards not accepted).  See You can add money to your UID card online here: https://ucard.utah.edu Links to an external site. (use My UCard Account link). You can also obtain these parts online from other vendors, but you will need them next week.

2.   Purchase Analog Discovery 2 Links to an external site. (AD2) from stockroom (cost about $200 on UID card).  You must also download and install the free Waveforms software from Digilent to use the AD 2:

(Waveforms runs on Mac, Windows, Linux, or ARM)

3.   Purchase AstroAI Links to an external site. Multimeter from stockroom (cost about $40 on UID card). Any other multimeter is also acceptable.

4.  Purchase the ECE Parts kit, diagonal cutters, and needle-nose pliers (cost about $30 on UID card). You will need a few additional parts throughout the semester, so keep a little money on your UID card for this purpose.

5. If attending classes on campus:  Sign up for ECE keycard access. Fill out this form and return it to the Stockroom (they also have printed forms there) ECE Lab Key Card Access Request.pdf
