Pre-Lab: No prelab this week, just come to lab. Be sure you have the Analog Discovery (for ECE1245) and Matlab (for ECE1050) working on your computer

SPECIAL NOTE FOR LAB 1:

• If you are in ECE 1050 and 1245---Attend both 1050 a nd 1245 lab sessions.  Do all of ECE 1245 Lab 1 the first week.  If you have not received your parts and instruments for the labs yet, do the first part of Lab 1 and talk to your TA about how to proceed after that. If you need additional time or assistance, talk to your TA during lab meeting or contact them through Canvas.

In this Lab, you will:

• ECE 1245:
  
  • Classify resistors based on standardized color coding.
  • Measure resistance with a digital multimeter.
  • Learn how to use a breadboard.
  • Learn about equivalent series and parallel resistance.
  • Measure a potentiometer (pot).

Materials Needed: (you should have acquired these in Lab 0)

• ECE 1245:
  • ECE 1245 Breadboard and Parts Kit
  • Digital multimeter
