ECE 1050 Lab M4:
- Download the lab handout here: (PDF Download PDF)
- You may also borrow this pre-built schematic in LTspice if you get stuck (LoadingDemo.asc Download LoadingDemo.asc)
Pre-Lab:
- You will need to use LTspice in this lab, which you should have downloaded/installed for Lab M0. Take some time to make sure that it is up and running.
- Once LTspice is working, take a little time to play with it by walking through some tutorials.
- For this lab in particular, you will need to do a parametric sweep, so the following video will be especially helpful:
- Parametric Sweep with LTspice Download Parametric Sweep with LTspice (This file is Huge so is best viewed by going to Files in Canvas and look for Labs: Lab 4: ECE1050_Lab4_LTSpice_Sweep. Otherwise, it may try to download almost 1GB to your computer.)
Learning objectives:
- Calculate the Thevenin equivalent of a voltage divider.
- Compare the output of a loaded voltage divider with its Thevenin equivalent.
- Explore voltage loading.
- Simulate a circuit in LTspice.
- Perform a parametric sweep of simulations.
DUE: Scan the Lab PDF with your name and the blanks filled in. Turn in a screen shot of any figures you generate as well as your source code. Labs are due the next time you attend lab, so this lab is due when you attend Lab M5.
