Front Page

Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time. Scientists warn that if we ignore the problem, by the end of this century the changes will be catastrophic. But why is climate changing, how certain is it that humans are to blame, what are the impacts of climate change, and what can be done to address the problem? This introductory course of climate change will answer each of these questions and explore the underlying scientific evidence.

ATMOS 1020 is a three-unit, introductory course on climate change, designed for students of all backgrounds. There are no prerequisites. The course is mostly descriptive and requires only very basic math skills. The course fulfills Physical/Life Sciences Exploration (SF), Limited Sustainability (SUSL), and adheres to university policies regarding its content.
