Text 1-1 Lecture (L1-1) Welcome to ECE!

Welcome to Electrical and Computer Engineering!  and Welcome to ECE 1240.  I'm glad to have you in my class.  I'm excited about electrical engineering.  It's been a fun and fascinating career for me, and I hope it will be for you too. 

Activities

• • Find the class!  Drive/Bike/Walk/Trax, Park, find WEB Links to an external site. & MEB Links to an external site., find food, find a study spot.

  Find your instructor's office: Dr Rasmussen (MEB 2268) or Dr Furse (MEB 2280) or Dr Cotter (MEB 2270) 

  • Schedule (and put on your calendar) at least an hour before each class to watch the video lecture and an hour after class to do the homework.  Schedule a bit of extra time each week to study, preferably with a study group.  Put these things on your calendar, for each course you are taking.  Include time for getting to and from campus, work, and PLAY TIME.  Be sure your schedule fits everything you need and want to do. 

    Put the important dates in your calendar.  Things like exams, finals, holidays, and spring break. You may also want to include add and drop dates.

  • Buy the equipment for the lab (ECE 1245), and download the textbook. See the Syllabus for details.
  • As we get going, get to know your professor, your classmates, and help me start to get to know you.  Find a study group.
