Final Project (100 points)
- Due May 10, 2021 by 11:59pm
- Points 100
- Submitting a file upload
- Design something (anything) that uses at least 2 elements -- mixers, oscillators, amplifiers, diodes -- and demonstrate that it works as planned using ADS.
- Document and describe your design process, and show how you know this system is working.
Suggestions:
- Put two amplifiers in series. Be sure the output impedance of one matches the input impedance of the other, or develop a matching circuit to fix this. See if you get the total amplification you expect.
- Put two amplifiers together, and instead of matching the space between them to 50 ohms, match it to something else.
- Design an oscillator and amplifier at the same frequency. Put the oscillator into the input of the amplifier, and see what you get for an output. Fix any matching issues between them.
- Design an oscillator and mixer for use at the same frequency. Put your oscillator into one side of the mixer, and an AC source into the other side, and see what your output is. Do you need to fix matching issues?

Work through one of the RF System examples in the ADS Example Guides (these guides are like the one we worked through with Casey)
- Sign up here https://connectlp.keysight.com/ADS-Example-Guide (Links to an external site.)
- Access them here https://connectlp.keysight.com/LP=20186
- Go back to your mixer examples. Decide what frequency band you want to transmit, and design filter(s) to remove the rest.
- OR anything else that interests you! Show me that you know how to design RF/Microwave components, put them together, and evaluate them.
