Assignment: ADS Filter Design and Simulation
Instructions
(Links to an external site.)1) Work through the ADS tutorial information in the ADS Module.
2) Use ADS to simulate a lumped element LP filter. Choose from one you have already done the design for from previous homework. Download previous homework. or design a new one (include design steps if you do this). Look at the S21 for a range of frequencies that includes the frequencies you were trying to design for, and those that are out of band. (20 points)
3) Use ADS to simulate a distributed element LP filter (stub or stepped impedance). Choose from one you have already done the design for from previous homework. Download previous homework. or design a new one (include design steps if you do this). Look at the S21 for a range of frequencies that includes those you were trying to design for and those that are out of band. (20 points)
4) Use ADS to simulate a lumped element BP filter.Choose from one you have already done the design for from previous homework. Download previous homework. or design a new one (include design steps if you do this). Look at the S21 for a range of frequencies that includes those you were trying to design for and those that are out of band. Observe what happens at harmonics of the frequencies you designed the filter to pass. (10 points).
