Supplies:

  • 1 Cup Epsom salt 
  • 1 Cup hot water
  • Food dye
  • Measuring cups
  • Spoon
  • Glass bowl

  1. Combine 1 cup Epsom salt, 1 cup hot water, and 1-2 drops of food coloring in a bowl until the Epsom salt has mostly dissolved.
  2. Pour the Epsom salt solution into a glass container such as a measuring cup and place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  3. After 10-15 minutes, switch the mixture to the fridge and leave on the top shelf for at least 24 hours.
  4. After 24 hours, drain any remaining liquid and observe the crystals that have formed!
