Supplies:

  • Salt
  • Vinegar
  • Spoon
  • Plate
  • Bowl
  • Dark pennies

  1. Put about half a cup of vinegar, and a couple of dashes of salt.
  2. Mix them together until the salt Is dissolved
  3. Place the pennies in the mixture and watch them lighten.
  4. When they are at your desired lightness wash them in soap and water.
  5. Now you have brand new pennies.
  6. The way this works is because overtime the copper on the pennies becomes oxygenated and turns the darker color. The vinegar and salt absorb those molecules to bring them back to their original color.
