Written Instructions (Printable PDF)
- Fold a stack of 5 sheets of paper in half twice (so that it is 20 layers thick). Then cut a of about one inch of the stack of papers so that you have 10 long strips. Cut it in half at the fold line to get 20 smaller strips in total.
- Glue together the 20 strips by stacking them one at a time.
- Fold up the ends of the glued paper to create a skateboard like curve at either end of the paper.
- Trace and cut an oval skateboard shape from your glued paper. Fold up the ends again to reshape it and allow it to finish drying.
- Draw 4 circles on either end of the paper skateboard to resemble the truck bearings on real skateboards.
- Using leftover paper from earlier, cut 10 narrow 1-inch long strips of paper and glue 5 pieces together to create 2 small stacks of glued paper.
- On both strips of paper, fold the ends of the paper in towards the middle to create a bridge shape. Then fold the end pieces of the bridge shape in half (folding away from the middle) to make a z shape. Glue each piece to the bottom of the skateboard beneath the 4 circles you drew on each side. 8
- Let dry and enjoy your paper skateboard!
