Instructions

Using plastic cups and your own creativity, you can create a unique and beautiful project!

Length of Activity: 10 Minutes 

Parental Warning: Oven, hot glue gun, and scissor use

Supplies:

  • Clear plastic cups (various sizes and be sure to look for recycling number 6)
  • Sharpies (various colors)
  • Green cloth covered wire
  • Glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Baking sheet
  • Tinfoil

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Use your sharpies to completely color the inside of the cup and the bottom of the cup.
  3. Cut slits down the sides of the cups using your scissors.
  4. Place your cups on the foil lined baking sheet.
  5. Put cups in the oven for 2-5 minutes. Keep a close eye on your cups so they do not melt too much. Also, open up your windows or put on a fan as the melting plastic is smelly.
  6. Let your flowers cool,
  7. Use your glue gun to attach the wire to the back of your flowers and/or attach cups to one another to create a layered flower.
