Use a mason jar to bring beautiful hummingbirds to your yard!

Supplies:
- 4 ounce mason jar
- Red paint
- Paintbrush
- Hole puncher
- Scissors
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- String or yarn

- Remove band and lid from the mason jar and paint the lid red. Let dry.
- Punch 4 equally spaced holes in the lid using a hole puncher. If necessary, ask an adult for help.
- Make hummingbird nectar by combining 1 cup boiling water and 1/4 cup white sugar. Follow a ratio of 4 parts water to 1 part sugar if you make more or less than the amount specified. Let cool.
- Tie two strings around the base of the jar and join the ends together to create a hanger for the nectar feeder.
- Fill the jar with nectar, screw on the lid and hang your hummingbird feeder on a tree!
