He gave some background on the Office of Learning Outcomes Assessment and describes how the office consults with departments to help facilitate assessment and describes the upcoming University-wide accreditation in 2022.

Summary: Dr. Phadnis discusses their assessment which has largely taken shape over the past year. Key components of her presentation include:
Mapping Expected Learning Outcomes (ELO's) to their courses with faculty feedback
Mapping assignments to outcomes in both core and required courses and labs.
Surveying students about where and to what degree they think they are meeting the outcomes.
Examining where there are "holes" in their outcome map and whether that means they need to adjust their curriculum or their outcomes.
Why course grades do not suffice for assessing outcomes.

Summary: Ms. McIntyre-Martinez discusses the following aspects of their assessment work:
• Mapping learning outcomes that intentionally build on each other throughout the curriculum
• Identifying artifacts with faculty and building rubrics that can be used across courses
• Artifacts include teaching practicum reflections, collaborative and individual assignments, and portfolios
• In Theatre department moved outcomes from using "Understand" verb to more action-oriented and measurable "Exhibit, Develop, Practice, and Connect."
• Discussed how audition forms or tapes are great pre-assessment data
• Getting feedback from faculty that students are producing more quality work when they know what is expected of them.

Summary: Dr. Blumenthal's talks about:
• Creating a culture of assessment from faculty up (as opposed to administration down) by showing them how it can improve quality and drive curricular change
• Surveying all stakeholders for input on outcomes including: students, faculty, alumni, employers, supervisors in clinical sites and sending results to the right people/bodies
• Assessment needs to be a team sport and involve everyone
• Assessing outcomes that are mandated by professional program accrediting board (Pharmacy)
• Curricular mapping with heat map to see where concentration of content for outcomes is in courses
12:40: Rebecca Horn, Ph.D. ; Department of History Assessment

Summary: Dr. Horn discusses the following aspects of their assessment work:
• History is new to assessing program learning outcomes so keeping it simple.
• They are assessing two of their outcomes in one required course that happens midway through the major (HIST 3100). They assess their other three outcomes in their capstone course's end of year project.
• They are using their Undergraduate Committee as their assessment committee.
• One outcome of assessment that they are committed to is making sure students have the language to describe the skills and outcomes they have acquired as they graduate.
