MATLAB: Buying License from U of U OSL

Below is a copy of email previously sent by the ECE Dept. about buying MATLAB for $30 / year using the University of Utah's site license at OSL.utah.edu Links to an external site..  Downloading MATLAB will take a while, however, because it is multiple gigabytes.  I found that it took the better part of an hour to download the code.

Dear students, 

The University of Utah has negotiated and obtained a campus wide MathWorks MATLAB Total Academic Headcount site license for MATLAB, Simulink and 48 companion products.

Access to the products will be available through the Office of Software License (OSL) web store beginning September 1st, 2016 and the software is available to all students, faculty and staff for academic purposes, including academic research.

Students can now get a substantial discount on MATLAB if they purchase through OSL. A student license, which includes MATLAB, Simulink and up to 48 companion products, is available for just $30.00 per annual subscription license.

Please communicate a message out to students through email; newsletters; have instructors announce in classes & to student clubs, etc.; use Twitter/Facebook other social media, etc.

Please also help us to spread the word about this new software offering by forwarding this email on to all co-workers that may want access to these products.
