Introduction: Many circuits are very complex and difficult to analyze. Or, we may have a circuit in a box where we can measure the outputs, but don't know what is inside the box. Thevenin/Norton equivalent circuits let us combine all of the complex or hidden parts of the circuit into a single 'black box' equivalent circuit, thus simplifying our analysis considerably.
