Lecture (L1-1) Welcome to ECE!

Welcome to Electrical and Computer Engineering!  and Welcome to ECE 1250.  I'm glad to have you in my class.  I'm excited about electrical engineering.  It's been a fun and fascinating career for me, and I hope it will be for you too. 

Today:

• Find the class (Warnock Engineering Building (WEB) L126) !

Drive/Bike/Walk/Trax, Park, find WEB Links to an external site. & MEB Links to an external site., find food, find a study spot.  

Find Dr. Rasmussen's Office (MEB 2266B - temporary office in MEB 2340)

• Read the syllabus and plan your weekly schedule.
  

Schedule at least an hour before each class to watch the video lecture and an hour after class to do the homework.  Schedule a bit of extra time each week to study, preferably with a study group.  Put these things on your calendar, for each course you are taking.  Include time for getting to and from campus, work, and PLAY TIME.  Be sure your schedule fits everything you need and want to do.

Put the important dates in your calendar.  Things like exams, finals, holidays, and spring break. You may also want to include add and drop dates.

• Buy your books.
• Find something that particularly interests you about electrical and computer engineering:

What is Electrical Engineering?  'Anything you can do to a voltage.'  (Ok, or a current!) But wait, there's more.....

• At your leisure, check out the resources for the course and the resources on the ECE website Links to an external site..
• As we get going, get to know your professor Links to an external site., your classmates, and help me start to get to know you.  Find a study group.
