Reading Assignment - Week 2

This is the first reading assignment. These readings are short, and relate to the history of electronic and experimental music. We'll have an in-class discussion of the readings in each Tuesday class. Before Tuesday's class you should upload a short critique of the reading. This doesn't have to be more then a paragraph (although it can be longer if you have more to say). A critique is not a summary of the reading - it's your reaction to the reading. Tell me what you thought of the content of the essay. Did you like it? Did you agree with it? Did you think the arguments were valid and relevant? Do the ideas hold up in a modern context? 

Basically - what did you think of the ideas in the reading? 

This reading is from 1913 - it's a "futurist manifesto" by Luigi Russalo (1885 - 1947) - an Italian painter, composer, builder of musical instruments, and member of the Italian futurist movement. It is considered among the first descriptions of noise as a musical element.
