Week 14 Overview
Overview
This week we will begin discussing the structure in the Universe.
By the end of this week, you should be able to:
- describe the distribution of galaxies in the universe.
- explain how galaxies formed in the early universe and the role that dark matter plays in galaxy formation.
- distinguish between the formation of the first stars and the formation of stars today.
- place in order the steps that led to large-scale structure in the universe.
Make sure that you complete the following:
- Attend lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:10am (JFB 101)
- Complete Reading and Reading quizzes before lectures (listed in Activities below)
- Complete the homework assignment (listed in Activities below)
