Week 6 Overview
Overview
Note: Due to the Exam on Thursday, Feb. 13, there is no homework due this on Sunday, Feb 16.
This week we will have our first exam and will begin talking about stars!
By the end of this week, you should be able to:
- describe how gravity and angular momentum are involved in star formation.
- describe the process that makes Solar System planets orbit the sun in a plane and revolve in the same direction that the Sun rotates in.
- explain how temperature at different locations in the Solar System disk affects the composition of planets, moons, and other bodies.
Make sure that you complete the following:
- Attend lecture on Tuesday at 9:10am (JFB 101).
- Take the in-class exam on Thursday at 9:10am (JFB 101).
- Complete reading and reading quiz before lectures (listed in Activities below).
