Library Research Getting organized to do Library research

 Introduction

Doing research in the library or in the laboratory can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming. This workshop on doing library research will get you started in the process, improve your process, or if you are already underway will present some tools and strategies to help make your research more efficient.

Writing & Wrapping It Up

• Having trouble getting started with your writing?
  • You can use an outline
  • Use AI to help you identify subtopics in an outline format
  • Sometimes it is easier to talk out what is in your head than to start typing on a blank page
    • Use Otter.ai app to record you as you talk through ideas. It will transcribe what you say and then when you paste your 'brain dump' into Microsoft Word you can rearrange and elaborate.
    • Even word has a Dictate tool to convert voice to text (use the Home tab - look for microphone icon)
