Introduction

Keysight's Advanced Design System (ADS) software is a powerful tool for design and evaluation of RF circuits. In this module, you will get started with ADS and simulate lumped and distributed element filters.

Topic 1: Get Access to ADS

Goal: Get access to ADS software, either through the ECE lab computers, or from Keysight (downloadable to your computer)

From Keysight: (License for your personal computer)

Students can download a license for their own computer. They can request a license from https://connectlp.keysight.com/StudentLicense (Links to an external site.). Licenses will be emailed to them within 24 hours (typically much shorter). Since University of Utah has the W2030UU license, they will receive licenses for ADS, RF Synthesis (formerly Genesys), and System Design (formerly SystemVue).

Topic 2: Get Started with ADS

Goal: Get started with ADS for lumped elements

There will be NO FORMAL CLASS this week. Please work through the ADS tutorials, get ADS running, and simulate lumped and distributed element filters. I will be available during class and office hour times on the zoom link, to answer questions.
