Using Qualitative Research Strategies for Evaluation and Assessment of Grants

Abstract: The collection and analysis of qualitative data is being used increasingly to supplement quantitative research project and grant evaluations.  An introduction to qualitative research and how to enhance the evaluation of qualitative  projects and grants will be presented.  Participants will better understand qualitative research strategies, and how to the select qualitative research approaches based on stated goals and objectives.  How to collect and analyze  qualitative data as well as  the evaluation process of research projects and grants will be discussed.  Strategies and tools for reporting qualitative data to appropriate audiences and stakeholders will also be described.
