SACNAS aims to provide a holistic approach to STEM training by organizing opportunities for professional development, cultural programming, resilience training as well as a pipeline of support filled with mentoring opportunities at both the local and national level. Our activities include professional skills development workshops, networking events, ‘Pathway to Science’ student and faculty seminars, career exploration panels, providing outreach to K – 12 students within the Salt Lake community, social gatherings with SACNISTAs just to name a few.
In addition to the mentioned events, some of 2020/2021 goals include collaborations with Black and Native American organizations on the University of Utah’s campus, providing a platform to explore issues affecting students. Lastly, we will work on expanding our activities on lower campus to reach a wider audience and continue providing avenues for leadership within the organization.
