Written Instructions (Printable PDF)

  1. Mix one packet of gelatin with boiling water until fully dissolved.
  2. Mix bird seed with gelatin mixture.
  3. Cut straws into pieces long enough to stick out the top of the cookie cutters.
  4. Spray the inside of the cookie cutter with greasing spray and place on parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Fill mold with bird seed/gelatin mixture and make sure to press firmly to tightly pack the bird seed in the cookie cutter.
  5. Put the straw near the top of the cookie cutter leaving enough room at the top of the mold that the yarn wont tear through the bird feeder when tied.
  6. Place bird feeders in the fridge for a minimum of two hours to set.
  7. Carefully remove bird feeders from cookie cutters and remove straws. Put a piece of yarn or ribbon through the hole and tie a solid knot at the top.
  8. Hang in your yard for all the birds to enjoy!
