Course: How to Turn in Homework

What to turn in?  Where?  and When?

Use Canvas!  You will upload all assignments as .pdf, .docx, .doc, or .txt files (not .jpg, which are awkward and huge) to the ECE 1250 Canvas site on the corresponding Assignment page.  Login to your U of U computer account before trying to turn in assignments (so Canvas knows who you are).  When you are logged in, a Submit button will appear on assignment pages.  You will scan handwritten work.  A scanner is available in the ECE Stockroom, MEB 2355.  Or use your digital camera with apps like GeniusScan Links to an external site. or ScannerAppPro Links to an external site. for iPhone that produce .pdf files.  Remember to login to Canvas before trying to turn in your assignments.

Unless otherwise specified by the instructor, turn in Homework in Canvas by Tuesday (of the week after the homework assignment date shown in the schedule on the Home Page) by 11:59 p.m.  Both the homework assignment statements on Canvas and the Canvas Calendar will show the exact due date for each homework assignment.  If you need a time stamp on when you finished homework and are having difficulty uploading to Canvas, send an email to the instructor with the .pdf file of the homework attached.  If the email is received before the homework due date, a later turn-in may be permitted.

Turn in Extra Credit online in Canvas.   Dates of Extra Credit vary.  Feedback must be turned in by dates noted in the schedule.  Most other Extra Credit can be turned in through the end of the semester. Both the extra credit assignment statements on Canvas and the Canvas Calendar will show the exact due date for each extra credit assignment.

Turn in Labs online in Canvas as instructed by your TA in lab sessions. Labs are generally due by 11:59 p.m. one week and one business day after the start of a particular lab exercise.  Some weeks do not have labs (but this is rare), due to holidays, etc., and each lab section will start each each lab on a different day.  Your TA will let you know in your lab section what the schedule for labs will be.  TA's also have the final say on due dates for labs.

Homework Grading:

Homework should be graded within a week.  Labs should be graded within two weeks.  Please let the instructor know if grades are delayed.  Online assignments will have online grades posted.
