Pre-phase Checklists
Where Do I Start?
These pre-phase checklists will help you identify which framework phase best fits where you want to start working.
Phase 1: Design
Have you completed each of the following components? If not, enter Phase 1 - Design. If so, continue to the phase 2 checklist below.
- Clearly defined and documented course objectives that are action-oriented and measurable
- A completed alignment grid outlining teaching/learning activities and assessments
- Documented individual lesson objectives
- Course structure with manageable and sequenced components
- A draft of the course syllabus
Phase 2: Build
Have you completed each of the following components? If not, enter Phase 2 - Build. If so, continue to the phase 3 checklist below.
- Course materials (presentation/demonstration, practice, and assessments components) developed in your course delivery system
- An organized and easy to navigate course
- A completed course syllabus
Phase 3: Teach
Have you completed each of the following components? If not, enter Phase 3 - Teach. If so, continue to the phase 4 checklist below.
- Provided a rich learning environment where communication practices are being implemented
- Established a learning community
- Assessed student performance against stated learning objectives
Phase 4: Revise
Have you completed each of the following components? If not, enter Phase 4 - Revise. If so, continue to the phase 1 checklist above to return to the design phase to make your improvements.
- Identified course evaluation services offered through CTLE Links to an external site.
- Selected and applied one or more evaluation services to your course
- Identified areas for improvement (through self-reflection on your teaching and/or in consultation with CTLE Links to an external site.)
