Labs: Installing Multisim & MyDAQ
We will be using Multisim to simulate circuits and the MyDAQ (hardware) to measure them.
Install both of these on your home computer, using the DVD that came with your textbook/MyDAQ package.
How? If you have the DVD from the back of your book and a DVD reader, just put in the Multisim DVD and follow the installation instructions.
- What if I don't have a computer? (or don't want to bring it to lab)? IF you do not have a home computer, you can use the computers in the ECE Computer Lab MEB 2555 or MEB 2365. What if I don't have a DVD reader? If you don't have a DVD reader, or if you don't have your book yet, download multisim from the NI website

Download NI myDAQ installation guide.docx If you have the DVD, you will use the code on your DVD. If you don't, use the evaluation copy until your book arrives.

- You will need a CADE Lab Links to an external site. login. This will allow you to:
- Download software you will need for installing a windows environment on a MAC computer
- Cade lab has 24/7 access and is widely used in engineering classes. Matlab is available in the CADE labs.
To create a CADE login account:
- Go to https://webhandin.eng.utah.edu/cade
- Click on "I would like to Create An Account/Retrieve My Username."
- Enter your CIS login info and get a user name to login with.
- The password will be the same as your CIS login password.
